Doctor Who Convention in Scotland

Any chance of a Doctor Who convention? Like the one last year at the ExCel, noticed you have ran a few Who events (Bad Wolf, Dimensions, Who Wars etc)

Like maybe bring one back up like Who Wars or make a new one, a Doctor Who convention would be good while the show is out there because of the new Series and new Doctor.

And the whole "in Scotland" would be great cause all the Doctor Who conventions (all conventions really) get held in England.

O:)

Not much chance in Scotland I'm afraid. There was a regular Doctor Who event in Glasgow every year that had to stop running a couple of years back because of lack of numbers. They had planned to start them up again if there was interest shown in them, but alas there wasn't enough. A shame, as they were great events

The specialised convention is not what it used to be. I can remember 10 years regularly attending weekend events for Buffy & Angel which packed them in. It seems the traditional weekend convention ran at a nice hotel are getting fewer as it seems the guests cannot commit as easily as they used to. So many shows are made these days compared to 10 years ago, and thus convetion ticket sales can suffer early on which does not allow organisers to invite other guests as the money is just not there as it once used to be. Signing events like CollectorMania, LFACC etc are what work now. It is a shame as the nice intimate events where you stayed at the hotel the event was at were great. Running conventions and signing events is not as saying "Sign a guest and we will come" as the events need make some sort of money in order to fund the next ones. I would love a nice weekend Doctor Who events limited to a certain number of tickets where we would all get autographs, photos etc. When you did not have to muscle your way through big crowds. But times change.
