Gabber Foxx
First off all, I would like to say that LFCC was great for the most part. I had pictures taken with Christopher Lloyd and Jason Mewes and I found some great bargains in the dealers market. Though I was saddened at John Hurt cancelling his talk half way through the day, the Aliens talk quickly made up for it and the cosplay competition was a good way to end the day as well. Now, on to the Heroes Talk. Me and my brother had bought tickets to the talk and we were looking forward to it all day. The news of Sendhil cancelling two days before the event was a let down but the promice of a autograph by a Heroes actor from a previous event made up for it. When the audience started to enter the talk area we were each given a blue bag with our promiced 'exclusive' t-shirt and signed prints. (Edit: There wasn't a exclusive t-shirt but there were supposidly two exclusive badges, which neither of us recieved.) When we and a good amount of other audience members had settled in we open our bags to find... a bright pink t-shirt with Mr. Muggles on it. If this was the design LFCC had chosen, this was a epic fail to say the least. Than we noticed other members of the audience had black t-shirts in their bags. I ask a staff member if me and my brother could swap our bags for ones with black t-shirts in and she happily swaps them, probobly sensing the dissapointment we had at the time. We look at our new t-shirts only to see that they were leftovers from the Eclipse event held earlier this year. Though we settle for this design, we were still a little dissapointed that we were just given a t-shirt advertising an event we had never been too. Than the talk started. David took his seat on the stage, says he can't reveal anything about his role in season 3 of Heroes and asks for questions. I knew that with the cancellation of Sendhil the talk would be affected, but I'll be the first to say most of the audience were expecting something more than a straight up Q&A. David coped well and was great on stage, particually when he shouted at the rest of the convention to be quiet, sang some lyrics from Jesus Christ Superstar and did a brief impression of Christopher Lee shouting "Marty!". Shortly after asking a few questions myself (a verse of Springtime For Hitler would have made my day) the session ended and the audience left with a buzz like no other. Overall, I think David handled the situation well and I wouldn't change a single thing about his performance to us. However, I feel LFCC let us down with the t-shirts and badged they promiced us and although the autographs were a good replacement for Sendhil's cancellation, bringing in another actor from Heroes at short notice would have been a lot more better. That's my view on the situation, feel free to add your feelings to the topic. Edited July 21, 2008 by Gabber Foxx
buffy+melaniec!
I feel pretty similar about what you have said. However I was more annoyed that the talk and everything had completely changed times at the last minute! We had a set plan of what we were going to do for the day, and moving the talk from 11.35 all the way to 3.50 completely messed this up. We were not impressed, to say the least. But the actual talk itself and David Anders was very funny. I was just very dissapointed with the organization. Even if it was clearly put on here the day before, we could have changed our plans. But it did kinda mess up the day.

I hope that tempers your disappointment, in that you "overexpected", rather than Showmasters "underdelivered". although the autographs were a good replacement for Sendhil's cancellation, bringing in another actor from Heroes at short notice would have been a lot more better. That's my view on the situation, feel free to add your feelings to the topic. And I'm sure that flying all the people that had bought tickets for the talk out to the Heroes set to watch a day's filming would have been "a lot more better" still, but we have to be realistic here. Sendhil cancelled about two and a half days before the event. Showmasters don't have a large storage cupboard full of Heroes actors that they can go and pull another one out of, like another toilet roll or another ream of paper for the photocopier. Most of them are going to have to fly in for the event (which in itself cuts about 14 hours out of the time left to arrange a replacement, by the time they've checked in, flown and gone through immigration etc at this end). And Heroes being a popular show, I doubt that all the other actors are sat around this weekend twiddling their thumbs, going "if only Showmasters had called..." - they're probably all busy this weekend, and by the time the of the cancellation had already got other commitments this weekend. Floorplay
I believe David couldn't make it in on time for the morning (due to his flight in?) which is why the talk time had to be moved at the last minute.
mightymax
I believe David couldn't make it in on time for the morning (due to his flight in?) which is why the talk time had to be moved at the last minute. Yes that's correct; he mentioned it in the talk. Apparently he flew in yesterday morning and practically came straight to the convention. He was jet lagged but coped with it very well, I guess the reason the talk didn't seem structured like they usually are which was probably down the small amount of time to change everything! With the cancellation of Sendhil being extremely short notice it was mission impossible for SM to arrange for another Heroes guest to attend! I think they are filming season 3 so a lot of the actors wouldn't be available anyway! I enjoyed the Q&A but as with these they are as good as the guest and the audience contribute so at times they can go a little limp! I was pleased with the goody bag the t-shirt was for the previous Eclipse event but I am not a fan of t-shirts with motifs all over them so I will use that for when I am decorating! I was pleased with the autograph (Adrian Pasdar) not sure if we all got the same? I haven't got a clue why the John Hurt talk was cancelled as I was looking forward to that. ghost angel
David Anders was clearly jet lagged and totally exhausted when he took to the stage and he was still very funny and totally entertaining. Top man.
Oregon-snowglobe
David was entertaining.....couldn't fault him despite his jet lag - and him addressing all of LFCC over the 'talk area wall' was genius!
leemcgavinjoey
I thought it was great :) And the Mr.Muggles t-shirt made me laugh. I'd say that it all went amazingly well and the crew were just as helpful and friendly as the guests! Thank youuu! :)
dufresne
but I'll be the first to say most of the audience were expecting something more than a straight up Q&A. You asked them all did you ? Because you didn't ask us What were you expecting if not a Q&A ? That's EXACTLY what I expected .... David was superbly entertaining despite exhaustion and jetlag, and in what became (at short notice) a difficult situation with Sendhil cancelling. The guy earned my utmost respect
Fever
I was a bit annoyed about the t-shirt... not the style of it but the size. Small? I'm not small but whatchagonnadoooo. And when i asked to change it they said all the bags were one size?!?!? I ended up giving it away to some little girl. What i would say is that I did pay for a HEROES talk/q&a. I appreciate he can't talk about series 3 but it was like I was at a David Anders talk or an Alias talk for most of it, not a Heroes talk and that did kind of feel like a let-down. I think he coped well considering his jet-lag plus you got to remember, it got hot in Earls Court 2 for some of us so being on a stage with those big lights around him on top of his tiredness must have been a nightmare. I did feel let down that i had paid for it... I was expecting some kind of anecdote about heroes. Even when the crew member tried to feed david some opportunites... Crew Member - "Did any of the crew ever play pranks during filming" David - "No" ... would have been nice if there was some kind of anecdote he had prepared for people who paid for it. But it was the only low-light for me. Well... actually finding out Brian Blessed cancelled really annoyed me because that was the only reason i paid to go Sunday to get a photo and the no refund policy meant i felt obliged to hang around all day but Pete Postlewhaite's talk was so good it made up for, in my opinion, the poor Heroes talk and Blessed cancelling. Lesson i've learned as a first timer to a show like this is I won't pay for talks and just do the free ones. I thought Pete Postlewhaite (how do you spell that guy's name) really showed some class and was an example of how to do a talk/q&a. He had an anecdote for every question he was asked. Brilliant. That's my thoughts anyway on David Anders anyway.

natfrog5
David did cope really well considering how tired he was and I think in ways it made it funnier. Anyone who went to Eclipse will know he can come out with classic responses when he's full awake! Was a bit disappointed with the goodies tbh. Maybe I was just wrong to assume that there were would be different Heroes tshirts and badges made especially for LFCC and not just the giving out of Eclipse left overs!! Plus I only got one badge in my bag lol...which I already have from my Elclipse gold pass goodies! xxxx

I was kinda screwed because of the change in time, but I know it was beyond anyone's control and David coped well having come straight from the airport. However the goodies weren't anything to write home about tbh. I went to Eclipse, so the badges we were given were duplicates (and there was only one in my bag too), the shirt one size (which doesn't fit) and the autograph one I had already as well (and I think everyone got the same? so we couldn't swap). You can hardly expect David to have an anecdote for everything like Peter Postlewaite, I mean Mr Postlewaite has been in the acting business a looooooooottt longer than David, so he would have more opportunuties to have funny stories. nikstar1989
the tshirt aswell [the eclipse ones] technically isnt a heroes tshirt is it? i mean its a heroes convention not heroes itself so could have been more clearly stated i pretty much new they were gonna give eclipse leftovers out guess i was right, although the sizes were completly redic would have been better to have sorted them out as some were diffo sizes but i suppose you cant please everyone

Just for the record i was one of the first into the hall, a girl gave me a bag. I looked inside and asked if this was a girls bag as it had a pink t-shirt. The girl said ALL THE BAGS WERE THE SAME. Fair enough, i saw the size and asked there and then if they had a medium. She said ALL SIZES WERE THE SAME. I gave up and sat down. I'm not having a go, i didn't pay the money for the goody bag. I paid for a Heroes talk. I got one badge as well but i don't care if it was meant to be one or two. I was slightly bothered by the talk though which i'm entitled to be. I gave my goody bag away to a little 6-9 year old girl who had been given a large t-shirt in her bag. Maybe for future shows crew members should write an S, an M and an L on relevant bags? As i said, it was the one let-down of the weekend for me. I'm allowed an opinion. Jason Mewes also had some great anecdotes incidentally. As did the Aliens talk members. jael001
I got a size L tshirt, but since I'm a 'big' girl, even an XL wouldnt have been big enough for me. There's no way they can cater for every size and shape attending.

Clare
I was also very disappointed by the heroes talk i found it quite dull and was not worth £15 and he mostly talked about alias which is fine if its a David Anders talk but it wasn't it was meant to be a heroes talk. The goody bag was useless i also only got 1 badge and a pink t shirt. i didnt realise you could swap them or i would have done even if it was an eclipse one also adrian pasda i already have. all in all not very good. also david anders left at 5.20 on the saturday before my number was called and seen as i came down from manchester i couldnt exactly pop down the next day.
