DookuDub
Anyone remember a show they have been to that had this little guests at this time. I really hope we get to see some big names announced in the next few weeks and hopefully this week too. I think we have a little under a month so that's plenty of time to get guests.

sebastian haff
Showmasters obviously have many more irons in the fire than back in the days of LFCC in July and Collectormania twice a year in the shopping center in Milton Keynes! Apart from Autographica in my opinion being very poor this year SM very rarely disappoint and usually put on a great show wherever they are I think you will start to see the names roll in in the next couple of weeks and we will all have a great guest lineup yet again for Collectormania MK

JacknDaniel
I'm actually pretty shocked at how little this event has to offer so far. Every Collectormania for the past 10 years since I started going has had at least 10 guests I've wanted to meet at every show, and this event has 1 guest I'm interested in, and even she isn't doing a photo shoot (Caroline Blakeiston)
mashbury20
I agree guys. I've been going to the shows at MK for a few years & the line up for next month's show is not very inspiring at all up to now. I have said before that I am happy for the Star Wars completists who can get some rare names on their posters, but that isn't really for me I am afraid. Call me Mr Shallow, but I do like a big name or two to be able to talk about after the event. Saying "Wow I met Lance Henriksen from Terminator & Aliens on Saturday" is way cooler than saying "Oh I met a guy who was in the background in a couple of scenes of the Phantom Menace". Sorry - I don't mean to belittle the guys who do a sterling job as extras and small part actors, I just enjoy meeting the bigger name celebs who usually attend these kind of events. Just hoping some big names get announced soon or this may be the first time in a long time that I don't bother attending a Collectormania event. I will be gutted if this proves to be the case as I always look forward to this show.
USS_NOSTROMO
At the start of the year I'd have said it was a nailed on certainty I would be attending, but now I doubt I'd go unless the guest list improves. I've chosen not to attend the last two SM shows because of lack of interesting guests (to me personally), but i do really like the MK show and it would hurt not to go. I hope theylle some interesting announcements soon.
Faerie Tanith
Sorry - I don't mean to belittle the guys who do a sterling job as extras and small part actors, I just enjoy meeting the bigger name celebs who usually attend these kind of events. Heavens, yes, thank you! Someone put it into words! I feel really bad for not being happy with the lineup so far but this is precisely why, no offense to any of the confirmed guests but I have literally only heard of about two of them. This is only my second SM event, as I only arrived in the area last year. This May was absolutely amazing, I only had one week's notice before the event so I didn't have the money for photoshoots or autographs but I was still fortunate enough to wander into Alfie Enoch and Paul McGann, and was perfectly happy to just walk around and admire everybody else from afar. I easily spent a whole afternoon just wandering around the stadium smiling like an idiot and went home having had a wonderful day and it was mainly due to the amazing guests (Tony Todd, anyone???). I've essentially had six months to prepare for this event, thinking if it was that good before it must be again... ever since the dates were made public I've been checking the site every day to see if anyone new has been announced. I honestly mean no offense to the announced guests so far but after all that and being so close to the event now, I really can't help but hope that the next announcement is a name that makes me excitedly squeal like a little girl. Really, if there's not at least one name per event that makes you fangirl helplessly, you're not conventioning right.
sebastian haff
Yes, Yes, I get it. The guest list isn't the best I have seen for a Collectormania show and I too would expect to see at least a few more 'BIG' name guests on the billing. That being said, Jason and the SM guys have only just completed a busy London show last weekend and am sure will be concentrating on this one in the coming weeks ( don't be forgetting about my local Cardiff show though!!).
JacknDaniel
That's the problem though with oversaturating the market. They have Belfast this weekend, Hallowhedon next weekend and Cardiff the following weekend. Going by that logic they wont have any time to spend organising any more guests for Collectormania. The organisers chose to do that many events so they must at least think themselves capable of keeping up with them. Unfortunately it's this oversaturation that is causing the likes of Collectormania 22 to suffer (a show that used to be an enormous show)
reedierules89
I totally agree even when you look back over the years cmk has never been this poor, tbh lfccw didn't have any what id call BIG names but that's just my opinion I think they spent all their money on lfcc back in july.
Moderators DavidB Posted October 21, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 21, 2014 LFCC Winter has never been anywhere near as big as the Summer show though. It's not a rare occurrence. In fact no show ever comes close to London in the Summer.
Zagreus
I don't know if they spent all the money at LFCC Summer, but it certainly feels like they spent all their efforts on it, at the expense of the subsequent shows. Yes the shows since have had some guest that interested me, but on the whole they were made up of very recent repeat guests and supporting/uncredited actors. Ironic, since it feels that these supporting actors are being used as supporting guests to make up the numbers. Almost as if SM know that announcing 15 background actors from Star Wars will help fill out the guest list. As was said before, it's good if you like that sort of thing, but even so...Quentin Pierre was at the last Collectormania, and both Comic Cons this year, so surely even Star Wars fans must be feeling the repetition.

Squirtchy
I've never been let down by a SM event, personally i already want to meet 15 guests at this event, a lot of them are Star Wars guests and the first time star wars signers, so i can understand why you would say there isn't many bug guests or guests at all if you aren't interested in star wars! That being said, i'm sure SM have something their hiding from us. *Keeps fingers crossed)
stephy749
I love showmasters and everything they do but there is no one there I want to see at all and it's so shocking for me. I mean I will be going to look around stalls and to cosplay and meet up my friends and take many a picture. But I really do hope the line up improves in the next month. But with Belfast and Cardiff happening before then I really do think they are focussing on them more. Their line ups are so good compared to collectormania Fingers crossed we get some more announcements
johnnyrock99
It seems the events at the backend of this year, aren't as great as the earlier ones. I must say that the line-up for MK has got to be the weakest I've seen, especially this close to the event. However the sports guests are the only draw for me as the boxers are quality and the overall standard of sports guests hasn't seem to dip.
hannah
Yep I agree, I've been to quite a few of these and this one doesn't really interest me! I've only heard about one of the guests. I really hope they do put some big guest stars out in the next week! maybe some Doctor Who, Torchwood or Primeval guests would be great!!
DookuDub
I personally think that they should concentrate more on collectormania as Cardiff has carice van houten and Jason momoa and Belfast has billie piper and a couple of good names. We need to see the good names rolling now. We still have around 4 weeks so they have time to impress us.

LogicTheory
Amanda Tapping is a pretty big guest and will bring in good numbers on her own. However having 1 guest on my list is the lowest amount I've ever had from a SM event. The success of a shows line-up really comes down to it's diversity, as different people like different things. I don't think it's very diverse at all at the moment and I think they need to add guests from different shows to bring in different fans. They've done a great job on the sports guests though. DookuDub
Well they have announced new guests. Unfortunately not any I am interested in but great for wrestling fans! I hope this is the start of the guest list growing
Faerie Tanith
So far it's not really very thrilling if, like me, you're not a Stars Wars or wrestling fan. Few more weeks to go though, will keep checking...
Moderators DavidB Posted October 22, 2014 Moderators Share Posted October 22, 2014 It's always going to be different from one lineup to the next as to how much someone is interested. Take LFCC for example - Summer I spent more than I ever have at any event ever, yet the Winter one just passed I didn't meet a single guest. It always changes for me from one to the next and I'm pretty used to that. In fact I'd much rather there wasn't 20+ guests an event I want to meet. Could never afford it
