e-Newsletter

[SMD1984]

I’ve done some searching but I couldn’t find any threads or posts about it, so here goes.

 

What if Showmasters had an e-newsletter that people can sign-up to and that is published weekly, fortnightly or monthly (I think fortnightly would be best). It could be mainly for people that don’t visit the forums or people that don’t visit the site on a regular basis. I know SM use FB and Twitter for this but not everyone is on FB or Twitter.

 

The e-newsletter could contain;

 

Official news, Important information and event announcements,

Upcoming events,

Dates on when tickets go on sale,

Ticket updates,

Guest announcements and cancellations.

 

What do people think about this? What else could be included?

 

Personally I think it’s a good idea as I didn’t really look at the site or forum until a couple of months before this LFCC and I’ve recently signed up to the forum.

sorry, I may of been misunderstood here. What I meant was for non-members to the forum. I know there are notifications for this, in which I have set these up.

You have made some good points there.

 

I know that they could look at the forum but some people can feel intimidated by them (I most certainly was when I first starting using forums) and some won't want to look through them either (hope you get what I'm trying to say and makes sense) or just look at the site itself but as I mentioned in the first post, not everyone visits the main website on a regular basis.

 

here's some idea's that they could use

• They already have ads in magazines, they could have at the bottom of the ad something like

for more information and the latest news, sign up to our newsletter. visit www.SM.....com or email newsletter@SM.com

or something on the lines of that.

• At the info desk at the event. have cards that people can write down there email address and put it in a suggestion/ballot (sorry, I can't think of what it is called) kind of box
• The website of course.
• When they order their tickets.

There could be other ways but I can't think of them.

 

And for the App.

 

I have read that an App was/is in development but I thought it would be for the events itself.
