Alltheeights
What's the consensus on officially licenced costumes? I have managed to acquire an old promotions costume of a Skylander, and was thinking about wandering the Gaming zone a bit on the Sunday for fans of the games. Would I be shunned by "Career-cosplayers" who spend months making their awesome outfits.. or welcomed?
Namine
It doesn't matter what you wear whether the cosplay is "costume" or "cosplay". You will be asked for photos all the time and you wouldn't get shunned by "career-cosplayers" at the con who made their cosplays or bought them. I'm no "career-cosplayer" (though I wish lol xD), but when I cosplayed for the first time, I was welcomed with open arms.

CrazyHorses
it doesn't matter if you buy a shop costume or make one, it's all about being comfortable wearing it and not worrying if the pros will shun you or not.
Sebster118
As CrazyHorses said. No matter how good your skill level, or how you got your costume/cosplay, there is no good or bad. All that matters is us nerds going out and having fun.

Sydney
And please come to see us in the Cosplay Zone! We love seeing everyone's costumes be they Shop Bought, Commissioned or Handmade You can even enter the masquerade if you want to, you won't be eligible for the grand prize as costumes have to be 80% handmade for that but we do have other categories like performance you can win and it's great fun to take part :) Gerri Cosplay at Showmasters
