Photoshoot ticket baches

Recommended Posts

I'm almost certain this has been explanied somewhere else, but can someone help me? What does the batch mean when you buy a photoshoot? Does it mean that there is a photoshoot for each batch? I would be immensely grateful if someone could explain this.

It's a way to make the queuing a bit easier on the day. When the shoot starts, the crew will call the diamond pass holders (for diamond guests only) then Gold pass holders, then batch 1, batch 2 etc. It basically means there won't be 500 odd people trying to queue up at the same time. The higher batch number you have, the later in the shoot you will be called and may even be in the second shoot time if the guest is doing multiple shoots. And as with VQ tickets, you can join anytime after you batch has been called.

It's the order you're called in. So batch 1 would be called before batch 3, and diamond passes ahead of gold and normal batched, if that helps.

Ah, so the higher the batch, the later you are called up. Got it, thanks :D Also, will all of these be done in the same shoot? Or might you have to wait till a later shoot if your batch isn't called?

You can go any time after your batch is called, so if you have batch 1 and there is 2 shoots, you can go either in the 1st or 2nd shoot.

Ok thanks. That's all the questions now ^_^

Until one of us thinks of another to ask. lol There's always another query to ask about on here, so go ahead and ask if you have any. (Hell, I'm still asking questions, only having been on here for about 1 1/2 years. lol)

Very popular guests usually have two photoshoot sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon; higher batches will be probably called in the afternoon session. The queue-wrangling staff usually give indications of this, so you can avoid waiting for one hour only to be told to come again after lunch :)

The way batches work for big guests is simple.

Everybody turns up at the start of the shoot.  They call Diamond, Gold and then after what seems an age maybe the 1st batch. If it's your lucky number, it takes you about 10 minutes to fight through the swarm of people (batches 2-10) all waiting for their number to be called.

When your batch is finally called, you will join the stampede to get into the queue.

You will be continuously told to 'bunch up' by crew. Somehow this makes the photographer be able to take photos faster....all it accomplishes is making you even more hotter and sweatier, just in time for your perfect moment.

When it's finally your turn for the photo, no doubt you will look five times worse than you did before you joined the queue in the first place!

If people would just listen a lot of this you are so nicely exaggregating about could be avoided. Unfortunately most attendees don't listen. We tell everyone who asks approximate wait times and when to show up, to the point where the mods and other helpful users sound like broken records. Still 9/10 of the buyers show up 10 minutes before the shoot starts even.

And it can be worse if it's a prop photoshoot because the guests can be seen and there are others who don't have photoshoot tickets trying to get a glimpse or photo of the guest.

I had a similar experience last year with the Hodor and the door photoshoots.

I do admit to arriving early when the group photoshoots were in session so I moved out of the way to allow others to join the queue. When it got to just Hodor, I joined the others waiting and at one point a crew member requested that those not around for the photoshoot to "go away".

If im a gold pass holder and have say 2 batches with different people that coincide then what would happen??

As you are gold you will go through first unless it's a diamond guest. This means you can go to the one that finishes first, first, then head on over to the other. If both shoots are really short then speak to the crew who will do their best to get you through. No point in worrying now though, wait until the schedule is realeased around a week before the show and if you need advice ask on here.
