Latest Comic Guest Announcement - Cary Nord Artist: Daredevil, Conan, X-0 Manowar IT DID not take Cary Nord long to make his presence known. After contributing to three issues of DC's Showcase '93, three of Marvel Comics Presents the following year and drawing 1995's Ghost Rider: Crossroads one-shot, the Canadian artist took over Daredevil, working on14 issues of the Marvel title between 1996 and 1998 while also illustrating fill-ins and such one-offs as Bruce Wayne, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Star Trek: The Next Generation/X-Men: Second Contact along the way. Nord followed a sporadic 1999-2000 run on Mutant X with a move back to DC where he drew a number of one-shots, Sins of Youth: Batboy and Robin and Green Lantern/Adam Strange. Then, after more fill-ins for Marvel and DC, the artist turned up at Dark Horse where he drew the three-issue Ripley's Believe It or Not! before relaunching Robert E Howard's archetypal sword and sorcery hero, Conan into his own comic. He drew all but 13 of the first 45 issues of Conan before heading back to Marvel for two 2008 four-parters – Ultimate Human and Secret Invasion: X-Men. After that Nord's sequential tailed off as he became increasingly in demand for his covers. He did, however, pencil two one-shots – Thor: The Trial of Thor [2009] and X-Men Origins: Nightcrawler [2010] before becoming the first creator to sign exclusively to the newly resurrected Valiant Entertainment in 2012. Since then he has illustrated 13 of the first 25 issues of X-0 Manowar as well as Unity #0 and 2014's Eternal Warrior: Days of Steel three-parter (his most recent assignment).
