  1. The Hotel Hoppa is operated by good old National Express and have to make a profit! Now the local buses ALSO have to make a profit - but ALL routes within 4 Miles of the airport have all costs paid by the British Airports Authority (BAA)! This may sound strange - but I have a feeling that it is showing how friendly Heathrow is to its immediate neighbours. After all within 5 to 8 years it will take over from Chicago AND Atlanta as the worlds busiest airport. Its current claim to fame is Worlds busiest International Airport. But when T5 opens Ian
  2. I wonder how many people collect these autographs as Investment's or for pleasure? I wonder how many of thos pictures taken this weekend are already on Ebay?
  3. Yes I will admit that it was a great place - loved the idea of the "Green Room" where you could get Food and soft drinks from 10am till 4 pm everyday. I have one MAJOR complaint - which I raised with almost everyone I saw from SM there! But that shall remain quiet at the moment! I look forward to my pictures on the CD...I comitted a cardinal sin on Friday night and forgot to take my camera with me to the start! Everyone enjoyed themselves and got what they went for! I even enjoyed watching the airplanes landing! Great view from the top floor. Yes it was peaceful - not quiet, just because there were queuse everywhere does not make it a failure...Gives you more chance to chat!
  4. Regarding the Lectures I would have to say Eric Brown was the greatest - not a lot of people outside the aerospace world knew about him - but he was unique in giving completely different lectures each days. Including items you will never here anywhere else - I can assure you!!!
  5. This may seem a weird question for this Thread...who of us crazy autograph collectors is coming furthest? Anyone coming from New Zealand or Outer Mongolia? I am coming from Brighton - (that just seems like Outer Mongolia for an autograph hunter) Ian
  6. I agree - and that was exactly what I did!
  7. just one Guest suggestion would make me move heaven and earth if you were successful Olivia Newton-John Yes I still have my "Back to Basics" Tour Ticket which was naturally cancelled at the last minute Well she can still fill arenas at $125 a seat today
  8. I can personally state that Jennifer Blanc is one wonderful lady. I have personally obtained some wonderful pictures from her doing some cooking in her kitchen - yes I hate "show" shots. I am a candid type of guy, we were sitting in a bar in a certain Hotel in Liverpool a few years ago. I am sure you do not need me to paint a picture. I was really sad to see her leave the second series, and even more sad to see the loss of Dark Angel because of Firefly!!! cheers Ian
  9. Hi there, I wonder is there any definate starting time in Friday and Finishing time on sunday for Autographica? I ask this because I have to arrange transport for myself to Heathrow. In addition are the Diamond pases sent out before the date of the Event Cheers Ian
  10. Hi everyone, Heres a few suggestions that cross my mind when I am in bed :) Dr. Zahi Hawass "The Mythbusters" The Time team members Ian Cockell
  11. Silly question no doubt - but are only the Astronauts / Cosmonauts scheduled to give talks? Or can some of the other guests be requested?
  12. My error - yes Autographica Understood - but as you mentioned all guests MUST have down time I am not trying to put words into your mouth, but a little understanding and respect goes a long way In addition the time for relaxation can be ruined "big time" with the constant use of flash guns I have attended several where the use of flash guns was forbidden - but ignored just the same. This is a total lack of respect for the guests and the organisers. I am sure I do not need to tell you where Thanks for the heads up on the situation Ian
  13. Hi, Well I have invested in a Diamond Pass (2 day), But I am going to make an admission - I am a meeter rather than an Autograph collector So Would it be good manners to purchase an autograph before requesting a photograph? I realise where you are coming from with this being "The Apollo 13" astronauts First ever signing therefore of course they are in a position to ask for a larger charge for their autographs. I wonder have they ever considered asking a lower fee for people for people who just wish to have phototographs taken with them? This is just an idea (feel free to shoot me down in flames if you disagree) After all 10 seconds in front of a camera is a lot less (and easier I would have thought) than 15 minutes signing books. One additional question will photos be allowed during the Gala Dinner? Ian
