  1. I'm sure many have seen it, but Alex Higgins passed away on Saturday 24th July, aged 61. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-...ad-2034992.html
  2. Hi. I was referring to the photo's we had during the photoshoots, but were unable to pick them up, then arranging for them to be delivered. Once again I'm not being impatient, I'm just curious. Thanks.
  3. Hi there. I was just wondering when we could expect delivery of the photographs that were arranged to be delivered. This isn't out of impatience, it's simply so I know when to expect them and can be there to receive/collect them.
  4. I like the sound of an Armstrong, Aldrin, Collins but in reality I think people would struggle to afford the autographs. You're potentially looking at £400 for three autographs? I think that if those three were at a show, there would have to be some compromise on thei behalf in terms of the amount charged per autograph. I speculate (and I say again speculate) that the reason many astronauts charge so much is that as soon as they've signed something the value blows through the roof. Personally if I got their autograph I'd never want to get rid of it. Anyway, as far as I've been able to tell from both people on here and people I talked to on Saturday, Armstrong really is the head honcho. Showmasters you have your target, now go get him!
  5. Hi there. This thread isn't made with a view to complain, as I had a fantastic time at the event and will almost definately be attending the next one, pending there being some guests I'm interested in visiting. I would however like to provide just a little feedback, nothing overly negative, just a couple of things which might have made the day a little easier! 1. At no point did I have any idea what was going on . I had no idea where the photoshoots were, I had no idea where to get virtual tickets, I had no idea whether the main desk was in fact the main desk or a cloakroom. It would have been much easier if there had been a couple of signs up etc. At one point I tink I asked one of Leslie Nielsen's entourage a question thinking they were staff. As it was my first time I anticipate the next event will make more sense to me, but I didn't have the foggiest about what was going on! 2. This is definintely not a subliminal message requesting future guests. 3. This is. 6. This was my first event. I had photo's with Leslie and Fred Haise, and got the signature of Eric Brown. These are all the people I wanted to see, so I'm very happy. I will say a big thank you to the crew member who accommodated a problem I had in the photo shoot with Fred Haise. Through a miscommunication with another staff member I missed the shoot, but after explaining the situation to said crew member, and after a short wait, Mr Haise returned to the photo room and me and my brother had the photo. Thanks extend to Mr Haise as well, who wasn't irritated in the slightest. I apologized to both of course. I even offered just to be allowed a private photo in his signing chair - but the crew member insisted I have it done properly. Leslie was a hoot. Always up for a laugh.
  7. If anyone sees this before the morning, could someone please tell me the opening time for normal ticket holders on Saturday? I ask because it seems it should be 10:00 for normal ticket holders, whereas on the ticket's page it says 11.00. Thanks.
  8. Hi there. Is a range of pens provided to each of the guests or are we expected to being our own? For one of the items it will required a thick black/gold marker. Will something like this be available?
  9. Hi there. I have photo shoots booked with Mr Nielsen and Mr Haise, as does my brother. Roughly how long will it take for the photo's to be ready to collect? We can't stay for long and wanted to leave almost immediately after the photoshoots (and after we'd got a couple of auto's) but if the photo's take ages to produce then do we have to hang around all day? Or can we have them mailed to us?
  10. that is not true at any of our events this has never happened , so why say this ? RayBan as to guest some times really serious things happen and we cannot say a thing , some time a go a guest child died all we could say was " he was no longer able to attend the event" as that was what the guest told us to say . we try to explain why someone cannot attend but it dose happen , i do not think it can be avoided and also i think that most guests are really sad if they have to change things and say so when they tell us things have to change , so i do not think this post helps anyone in any way. they are my thoughts jason Hi Jason. My original post wasn't aimed at Autographica, or any event ran by you guys. Nor was it aimed at George Baker. As I said in my post I'm sure plenty of guests have good reasons for cancelling or changing their visits. However I am sure that many simply change their minds on a whim, and it is for this reason I made my original post. Many cancel time and time again etc. Posting it in this thread may give the impression that I'm referring to Mr Baker or Autographica, but in fact I was just making a general comment that if a celebrity makes a commitment to attend an event, and people pay quite a lot of money to come and see them, they should honour that commitment if possible. I didn't think the thought was worthy of a thread on it's own. Once again this post wasn't aimed at you guys, your events, or Mr Baker. It is aimed at those I have attempted to visit in the past who have repeatedly cancelled/cancelled on a whim rather than with good reason etc. Jason can I ask a quick question while you're here. I intend on having a photograph with Fred Haise (will buy the ticket shortly). I know that you provide set sizes of photographs. Could a friend of mine take a photo at the same time with my camera? I.e. stand next to the photographer and take a single photo? It would take no longer.
  11. It really irritates me when guests do this. Of course it's understandable if there is an absolutely unavoidable commitment which they must attend. This will clearly apply to some guests which cancel/change appointments. They must remember that lots of people are paying money just for the priveledge of meeting them. So celebrities seem to think that they can just back out if they change their mind, leaving fans disappointed and out of pocket. This isn't a dig at George Baker (assuming he has a good reason for backing out) but for celebrities in general. The 'cancellations' list at some events is longer than the attending list!
  12. Hi there. Whilst you have some guests that I'd love to meet I'm really going to have to make some sacrifices. Whilst the chances of any of these requests being satisfied are relatively slim, I thought it would be worth asking. After all if you don't ask you don't get. 1. The 6x9 photograph from the photoshoots - instead of receiving this could I have the original file? I would certainly like something bigger than 6x9. Whilst I understand logistically it may be slightly difficult, it would actually save you money given that you don't have to print the photo. 2. Is there any chance of 'bundling' certain guests together for a photoshoot? I simply cannot afford any autographs, and so a couple of photoshoots is the only option I have to meet the people I want to meet. I would love a collective photo along with 617 squadron, and the spit pilots. I will definately be meeting Mr Haise. Since I will not be getting any autographs, I assume I would be ok with the non-early bird ticket? I imagine the photoshoots are at set times? If I got the autographs/photoshoots I want then I'd be in the hundreds of pounds (pilots and astronauts only). I can't spend the money because everything I have goes on flying lessons. It's a little sad that I can't afford to meet the people who have inspired me to fly. Nevermind. Thanks.
  13. I'm a little disappointed that the astronauts are charging what they are. I would love to meet Mr Haise but that's just about ruled me out.
