  1. There is no mention of Copenhagen on the forums. So has that gone the same way as Coventry, Manchester, [nearly] Glasgow? It seems the other company is seriously struggling too [no loss there?], with no communication on their forum, or guests. When the American market is thriving, how is ours in such decline?.
  2. So can I read into that statement, that John Barrowmans fee was less than that of James Masters?. Else wouldn’t it be in his interest to renegotiate his contract terms?.
  3. Sorry, haven’t read all the 10 pages. But can somebody explain, why don’t they just make James Masters a free guest now?.
  4. This whole post show analysis seems very unfair. Is this really ‘Dave Phillips’?, or somebody else from the company writing on his behalf. See you all next time.
  5. The chairs around the room were most helpful. They also allowed you to observe what was happening. I still have no idea what was acceptable and what wasn’t!. There were people with I-phones pointing it directly in front of Ursula’s face, and nobody stopping them, then the same ‘staff’ marching halfway across the room to stop some guy taking a photograph without flash. The same was happening with General Stafford, some people were standing behind him and having pictures taken, some people were taking pictures of him signing their photographs [some even with flash!], then other people were asking the Showmasters staff and getting directed to the sign. It wasn’t well executed, whatever the plan was.
  6. Can you be a little bit more specific as to why Ursula had the sign?. One of your staff, and I’m not sure if he has made it up or not – has said it was because of health reason they didn’t like the flash?. If this was the case, I feel the atmosphere would have been improved, if you’d conveyed this information, and provided the use of discretion was observed, allowed photographs without flash from a distance to be taken. Instead we had staff often walking almost 10 metres to enforce the rules, and staff instructed to stand in the way of peoples shots.
  7. I think its this attitude that has caused the problem in the first place!. Of course there are a variety of reasons why people should wish to have a photograph; this is such a stupid argument. Why therefore if both suffer reactions to FLASH photography, didn’t the rules, and signage reflect that?. I have no idea where you got your version of events from. But I saw management purposely putting people in the way to block shots, and at least 3/4 people jumping on anybody who raised a camera flash / or no flash. A world away from your account of “politely asking people to turn off their flashâ€. As I said, it seemed a great ‘buzz’ for those staff involved, but clearly dampened the spirit, and atmosphere of the event.
  8. Wise move Mr Dawson. The early bird was waste of money really, in fact bizarrely you were actually paying to queue as the line was busiest before 11.00!. I don’t think I’m going to pick that option again. The strictly enforced ‘no photographs’ issue I felt dampened the atmosphere. Whilst it raised egos of the staff members involved, and drove up photo sales, it killed the room. Maybe a better balance could be achieved at the next event. I agree that signage was an issue. Printed A4 paper, on a budget this size?, surely we could have pushed the boat out a little bit more!. I enjoyed the relaxed style though, I just hope that further Space guys can be persuaded to continue to come even if sales this time fall short.
  9. Yeah, it’s a bit sad that their appearance was confined to Autographica. I support this, or any of the other girls from the movies. With three pages already!, this already sounds a good shout!.
  10. That’s awesome Dave! Genuinely, thank you so much for asking her. I really am looking forward to meeting her now.
  11. But that’s kinda my point also, the scale of the production and advertising budgets that the film company have are immense. The cost of doing something special [given the short notice, and that the problem that has arisen is directly their fault] is such a small minuscule figure. Showmasters could even sign agreements that this is a one off, special case. Surly some goodwill gesture is much deserved.
  12. If from your post, I’ve read this right. The film company were aware that this was scheduled, and therefore knew that any changes would directly affect this event. Therefore given that you’re directly promoting, and advertising their movie – isn’t it in their interest [even though they're not directly profiting from it] to keep you sweet?. If you’ve just sat there and gone ‘oh well, we lost our guests, tough luck on those who have bought tickets already’, haven’t you sold everybody a bit short?. Surely the studio could as a gesture of goodwill, at least help make this event special in some way, maybe even help provide an extra guest, or something similar?.
