  1. Last year, coming from the West, I used the M4 coming off at Junction 2 and used the A315 which takes you to the venue. As far as I can see the road closures are the same as last year.
  2. This message was posted on a card related forum by the manufacturer "Unfortunately due to time constraints and pending approvals we were unable to produce the cards in time for the show."
  3. Has anyone received the absentee packs yet?
  4. The AFTAL have suspended Mick over customer service issues, and he has resigned as their Chairman
  5. I did not see them on Sunday and the mspg website is down
  6. The following instructions should be on your confirmation e-mail ENTRY to Car Park: Pre-bookings are valid for the designated car park location and selected dates only. Car parks are subject to the closing times as advertised at the car park entrance. Please observe these or ask a member of the car park staff for more information to avoid risking your vehicle being locked in overnight. Please note the location of the selected car park prior to arriving at Earls Court or Olympia. Traffic staff can not be expected to know which car park has been selected for your pre-booking. Please click on the link below for a map of the car parks. On arrival (and departure) at the designated car park it is imperative that you insert the correct credit card with which the booking was made into the entry (and exit) barrier. If you fail to use the correct credit card or enter the wrong car park or on the wrong dates you will be liable to pay the normal parking charges as displayed on the tariff at the entrance to the car park. No refund will be available for your pre-booked ticket or any additional charges that are incurred. Car park staff will not be able to advise which credit card was used for pre-booking, therefore Earls Court and Olympia will not be held liable for any additional charges that have occured from using a different credit card on entry. If for any reason the entrance barriers are unable to read your credit card, please press for a ticket and contact the car park cashier office, quoting your name and reference number. DO NOT use a different credit card. On confirmation of your booking an exit ticket will be produced.
  7. The two relevent posts from scifi wire Atlantis Movie Green-Lighted SCI FI Channel announced that it has given a green light to a two-hour movie based on its original series Stargate Atlantis. SCI FI will air the as-yet-untitled film as a world premiere before its release on DVD by MGM. Annoucement of the new film follows similar telefilms based on SCI FI's Battlestar Galactica and two straight-to-DVD Stargate SG-1 movies, Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum. The Atlantis movie will be written by executive producers Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie, who also serve as the series' show runners. The movie is set to follow the fifth and final season of Stargate Atlantis in January 2009. "We're excited to tell Atlantis stories on a bigger canvas," said Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, co-creators of SG-1 and Atlantis, in a statement. "The successes of the two original Stargate [direct-to-video] movies The Ark of Truth and Continuum have shown us the opportunities that the movie format offers. We have plans for both SG-1 and Atlantis to remain vital as we expand the franchise." Atlantis will air a milestone 100th episode in January 2009. Stargate Universe Coming SCI FI Channel announced that it has given a green light to produce Stargate Universe, the third series in the long-running SF franchise, with production on the MGM Television Entertainment show set to begin in early 2009. Brad Wright and Robert Cooper, co-creators of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, will serve as executive producers and writers on the new show. (Atlantis ends its five seasons next year but will continue in a two-hour telefilm.) "SCI FI has enjoyed tremendous success with Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis, and we're proud to be the home of the new Stargate Universe," Mark Stern, executive vice president, original programming for SCI FI, said in a statement. "Universe will continue the Stargate legacy of vibrant storylines and compelling adventures, but will re-invent the format in a whole new way." After unlocking the mystery of the Stargate's ninth chevron, a team of explorers travels to an unmanned starship called the Destiny, launched by the Ancients at the height of their civilization as a grand experiment set in motion but never completed. What starts as a simple reconnaissance turns into a never-ending mission as the Stargate Universe crew discovers that the ship is unable to return to Earth and that they must now fend for themselves aboard the Destiny. The crew will travel to the far reaches of the universe, connecting with each of the previously launched Stargates, thus fulfilling the Destiny's original mission. Stargate Universe will debut as a two-hour movie event on SCI FI. Following its premiere, Universe will assume a regular hourly slot in the summer of 2009. I do not think there much chance of saving Atlantis as they seem to want to go in a new direction.
  8. The official strikes have been called of for next week. Quote from the C.W.U. website: The Court has restrained the Union from calling out its members in Mail Centres and Delivery Offices on Monday 15th. Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th October respectively and as a consequence each action consisting of strike action of 24 hour duration will no longer take place. As a consequence you should attend for work and work normally. Details of the injunction will be forwarded to Branches on receipt It will be noted that the injunction does not cover Airports and Separate Collection Hubs but because of the small numbers involved it was thought prudent to also withdraw this planned action. This injunction will not affect the unofficial strikes, hopefully the details of the agreement will sort them out
  9. I pre-booked for Saturday, it costs £17.00 plus £1.50 booking fee
  10. There are probably only a limited number of weekends that you could hold this event and G-Mex Centre, looking at their upcoming events, is used by a lot of different organisations. I would suggest that, plus a need to spread Showmasters events over the year, is why they have gone for this particular weekend.
