We are running a quiz. Its not an official showmasters event, but everyone is welcome to come along and we expect a fair few people who we know wil do. Its a fundraiser for non-profit things, a writing award and TAFF, a fan fund. anyway, here are the details below, there will be an audio and even maybe a visual round, and cover various areas of SF, Fantasy, Horror, Movies books and comics etc. hope to see you there Stef and James London, England On Tuesday the 9th of November, following hotly on the heels of this years London Film and Comic Con 2, there will be Science Fiction Quiz, taking place in The Florence Nightingale Pub, which is on the roundabout immediatly south of westminster bridge. The Florence Nightingale is a short walk from both Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Underground stations. There will be a selection of prizes and a raffle. Tables of four will be £10. The quiz will begin at 8pm sharp. The quiz is organised and will be hosted by James and Stef who will be there especially for this event. Funds raised will go to The James White Award and The Trans Atlantic Fan Fund, both non profit altruistic organisations. Just thought we'd let the boys and girls that visit here, and who are helping us Crew LFACC2, that the Crew Party will be on Saturday night in a venue just 5 minutes (10 staggering back) from the Con itself ! We look forward to welcoming all Crew from LFACC2 and of those that Crewed with us at Collectormania 6 !!!! Details of the party will be in your Crew Booklets which are going out to you tommorrow. If you Crewed C6 and want details of the Party location, drop us an email with your REAL NAME in , and we'll let you know where and when it's happening! We'll only be able to answer mails on this until Wednesday night tho. See you all there!!!! N.B. Unfortunately, this is a CREW ONLY Party, to thank those that are helping us at this show and C6. We have a couple of folk coming along that have done an enourmous amount of work in the RPG industry - Ralph Horsley - Who has worked for Wizards, Games Workshop and Mongoose Publishing, recently worked on Magic The Gathering cards - http://www.ralphhorsley.co.uk/ Anne Stokes - who's produced numerouse covers for Mongoose on Slayers Guides and now the NEW Monster Manual. She's also an established T-shirt artist - http://www.annestokes.com/ Both will have original peices of work and prints for sales over the weekend and both are very approachable so don't be shy. Aspen - I only took Kristanna to lunch. But I'm around the show, as James and myself organise the crew and help out Jason & Mark a bit.

Unfortunately we have to announce that Kev Walker will not be able to attend LFACC2 due to a change personal circumstances. We do hope to have Kev along at a future LFACC.

Emails to existing and new crew to volunteer for positions at LFACC2 will be sent out by Monday 20th September 2004. If you have given us your details and haven't received a mail by Wednesday 22nd September, it could be because - 1) It bounced (we get a few of these) maybe due to us having an old address of yours etc 2) We read your email address incorrectly from your form, this happens. 3) We don't have an email address on the form you gave us. So if by Wednesday 22nd September, you haven't received an email, and you would like to crew for showmasters at LFACC2, regardless of whether you have crewed before or not send a mail with the following in the subject line. Request Initial Crew Mail LFACC2 - (YOUR REAL NAME) send it to : showmasters_crew@yahoo.co.uk and we will send you the crew volunteer form and email by return. Please note that you need to be sixteen to be crew at LFACC2 Many Thanks James and Stef PLEASE NOTE. Once received, we will send you confirmation to say we received your form, but as we state in the mail, we will be collating all the info from your returned forms over the next month. Once done, we shall email everyone to let them know if they have or haven't been selected to crew LFACC2. We do not expect to send out confirmation of crew position mails until AFTER C6.

KB just told me that a few folk were fretting bout crew positions. errrrm, were we supposed to have told you anything..................? Apologies to you all, they WERE supposed to be with you on Monday, but a combination of pc trouble and human failure prevented this. Crew confirmation mails for C6 will be emailed to you all tonight. The Comic creators appearing over the weekend will sign comic books or artwork that you bring along with you, and may be doing sketches too. There will be NO charge for this. The Creators may also have original artwork or comics/books that they have produced for sale, at a price decided upon by themselves.

You should find a description on what being a crewmember involves, how to apply to be one and what to expect once you've emailed us. We've also just pinned a clarification of the PARTY ticket situation for all potential crew. Please check out this area for Crew related stuff. There's also info on contacting us with questions. As you may be aware, there will a HUGE Party on the Saturday night of Collectormania 6!!! Tickets for this will go on sale Thursday 12th August, and the first 200 bought, will be VIP tickets. Now, you know we appreciate all the help and support our fantastic crew give us over at our shows, and as a thank you we will be giving away VIP tickets to those that work the hard hours the weekend demands! To qualify for this you will need to work either the Friday of C6, or the Saturday AND Sunday. If you work at any other time, you will need to purchase a party ticket, but we will upgrade it to a VIP one for FREE! If you have applied to crew, but are not selected this time, you will still be able to purchase a party ticket in the usual way, but again, we will upgrade it to a VIP one! The VIP tickets we have for crew are separate from the first 200 sold. So wait until you have had a mail from us in a few weeks time saying whether you are crewing or not before buying. In any case, you won’t miss out, as the fairy godmother said … “You SHALL go to the Ball!” We hope this clarifies the various queries people have out there. Hiya's, in regard to people voluntering, not getting allocated as crew and then left in a situation where, they have missed out on a VIP ticket. Showmasters Mark said the folowing: - Initial crew e-mails will be going out today or tomorrow. Anyone who has expressed an interest in crewing should receive one of these. We will not be able to confirm exactly who will be crewing the event before Thursday, in actual fact, crew volunteers need to be flexible, and will have to wait a while before they have confirmation ready for volunteers, so for now, if you receive the initial crew e-mail from us, and are not eventually selected for crew, then we will still upgrade a party ticket for you that you purchase at a later date, even if all 200 VIP tickets have been sold. end. we hope that answears that question WE try to look after everyone, as anyone who has crew'd will know, and this stays true. Howdy Ho!!!! Right then. FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CREWED FOR US BEFORE: Some will have got mails, and some won't yet. I've been sending them out at work when the boss wasn't looking (James and I have real jobs too, hence the usual 3am mails) Am home now (at last!) and am sending the next ones in an about an hour. Unfortunately, theres a service provider limit to the number of mails I can send in an hour too If you haven't received a mail later on this evening, please drop us a mail as I've had quite a few returned mails with duff addresses too. Also - some folk have had problems reading HTML mail, so I've been re-sending in plain text FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T CREWED BEFORE BUT HAVE VOLUNTEERED: We will be sending mails to you guys n gals by the end of the week, so don't panic!
