  1. If it helps guys - the one thing I learnt from last year having a Platinum ticket and rushing around trying to get everything is, if you have a clash go to the thing that will be the least busy. The thought behind this was I could make better use of my time queuing and getting a photo with say, Clive Mantle (just an example), where there will be less of a queue, then go to the queue for Andrew Scott's photo session where as a Platinum ticket holder I got allowed to go to the front of the queue and then get that. So in the time it would have taken me to queue and get Andrew Scott's photo, I got 2x photos done, if that makes sense. Allow time for the things that will take time but don't be silly with it, I gave myself 15 minutes to get most photo's done and that was more than enough if you time it all well. Am happy to send anyone a copy of my plan from last year if they want some sort of idea. I remember last year on the Saturday, as soon as we were let in everyone rushed to start queuing for Benedict's photo shoots, which made no sense to me. So I got Steven Moffat's, Una Stubbs' and Louise Brealey's autographs in about 20-30 minutes with a 5-10 minute chat with each cos everyone else was wasting their time elsewhere. Really jealous of all you guys going this year with a Gold or Plat ticket. Last year was amazing and the best thing I did all year, and I managed to get everything done, photos, talks, and autographs. I can only go on Saturday this year due to money, having a son and family commitments but I guess going Saturday now, I'll miss the mass rush on Sunday to see Mr Cumberbatch. I hope you all have a great time and maybe see some of you on Saturday.
  2. Im not going to name names here (although it will be blatantly obvious) but I attended Sherlocked last year was there was a VERY popular guest who barely had time to sign all the autographs for those who were guaranteed his auto. However, after each one he or she looked up and very quickly looked up and said thank you. Was it the interaction I wanted? Absolutely not but I think you have to balance what you want with what can be achieved and also judge them on their intentions not on their actions all the time. Not saying this covers every signer all the time, just think you have to balance things and be fair. Also, I know we all pay for the interaction, but at the end of the day you are paying for an autograph not the stars time. Just my pennies worth.
  3. That what I thought - would love it to be Christian
  4. Ahhh thats a shame. Maybe I sent it too late. Would it be okay to use it now for Sheffield?
  5. How come boxers refuse to sign belts? Just interested.
  6. Many thanks. Have sent it and look forward to hearing from you
  7. Hi, Would love to send Dave Prowse something to sign. Is he going to be added to the website and is it okay if my item arrives a little after the deadline? Many thanks for your help
  8. Might have to get a photo with him and sign saying "I Love Mark Kermode"
  9. Awesome! Met him a few years ago but never got a photo with him so that is now sorted. Probably too late but would have been great to have got Matt Zimmerman too.
  10. I'm guessing Peter Mayhew as he's promoting an exciting announcement in the next few days on his Twitter.
  11. Not to be too jaded, but do Showmasters actually take suggestions from here? Sorry, but this will be the first time I am going to a convention (Sherlocked excluded). Should the answer to my question above be yes. Here are my suggestions: Alan Cox Andrew Sachs Bert Coules Brian Blessed Chris Emmett Clive Merrison Crawford Logan David Ashton Donald Gee Douglas Henshall Dwight Schultz Edward Petherbridge Eleanor Bron Geoffrey Beevers Geoffrey Whitehead Hannah Gordon Hugh Bonneville Ian Holm Imogen Stubbs James Fleet James Wilby Jane Asher Jeffrey Holland Jeremy Clyde John Baddeley Judi Dench June Whitfield Kevin Whatley Lindsay Duncan Loren D Estelman Martin Jarvis Matt Zimmerman Maureen O'Brien Michael Cochrane Michael Kilgarriff Michael Pennington Miriam Margolyes Nicky Henson Nigel Anthony Penny Downie Peter Egan Peter Howell Peter Salls Peter Vaughan Robert Powell Robin Ellis Ronald Pickup Sarah Badel Simon Callow Stephen Thorne Stuart Milligan Terence Hardiman Terry Molloy Tim Piggot-Smith Timothy Carlton Timothy West Tom Baker
  12. With George Cohen and Martin Peters not having a photoshoot price, does this mean that we can not have photos with them? Even at their autograph desk?
  13. 3. any Celebs allow it, others not. I think I read on the LFCC FAQ that they have a sign up to say if they allow it or not - will this be the same here?
  14. Please ignore my first question, have just seen a topic a little further down that covers this. Thanks
  15. Hi all, Sorry if these are obvious questions but I just want to double check I'm thinking right here as I've never been to a Comic Con before, only the Sherlock Convention. Any help I get will be hugely appreciated. 1. I have yet to buy entrance tickets, can I buy on the day or do I have to get them from the Motorpoint website? 2. With photo shoots, as the 'shop' has been closed, can I and where do I buy them on the day? 3. If I am getting autographs, can I get photos with the guests whilst I am getting them? Once again, many thanks for any and all help. Looking forward to possible going. Still umming and arring as I live a few hours away.
  16. 5 words describe how good of a time he provided: "Are you beach body ready?" Couldn't stop laughing.
  17. I'm surprised you haven't included Leinster Gardens or the Vauxhall Arches in your plan. I'm hoping to see both on the Friday. Not sure if I'll have the time though.
  18. Has anyone managed to find these yet?
  19. Does that mean no priority for VIP,Plat etc? Thought there might be due to it being on Stage 1
  20. Is there a reason the Rupert Graves & Lars Mikkelsen talk on Saturday is only half hour? Is this a mistake or correct? 2.45pm - 3.15pm Lars Mikkelsen & Rupert Graves
  21. I think this is a real shame, was looking forward to meeting him. But I'm glad that it was work reasons that caused the cancellation. I've heard often times how being an actor is hard as for months on end you can have no work at all, so it is pleasing to hear someone is doing well. However, from peoples experience, and I am aware there is no guarantee this will happen, but is there any chance that there might be another guest announcement now as a "replacement" for lack of a better term. Not that I can fit anything more into my schedule!
  22. How good are the talks at getting people in and out? As I can imagine that would take up quite a bit of time with everyone rushing to get out.

    Planning!

I am trying to work out my plan and everything and need some advice. Obviously, talks will be about an hour if you include the time you got to be there beforehand and getting out (BC's I know will be longer). I have given myself 15mins for any autographs or photo shoots - this includes getting there and queueing. Is this right? Any tips on how to create a plan? I have a feeling that whatever plan I make will go right out the window anyway. Could really have done with being able to do a photoshoot or autograph or 2 on Friday night. Ah well. The stress for me makes it more exciting. I'm a bit of a planning freak. Also, what is the best way to bring your plan with you? On your phone? A bit of paper? Mind Palace?
  24. Okay, another stupid question I'm sure, but as a first time con attendee I want to make sure of this. As far as extra autographs go, these are on a first come first served basis right? And can I buy them when I register? What is the chance of them selling out?
