  1. I'd suggest the 80s action shows - Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf, The A-Team, Automan, Manimal.
  2. What about people from what I'd class as borderline shows? I know they do a lot of conventions over in the US too, so I'm sure they'd be open to it. I mean people like Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman from Mythbusters? Or maybe some paranormal guests like Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson?
  3. Absolutely gutted. Just checked my work schedule against the Showmasters events for the year and it looks like I can't crew this year. I had such a good time in Cardiff in November that I was hoping to crew some other events but at the moment it looks like it'll be impossible (until I can get some annual leave sorted later in the year). In the meantime, I'll be at Cardiff this weekend as an attendee and hope to catch up with some of you again.
  4. I went to a convention in Cardiff back in 1996 and Mark Lenard was announced. Sadly he didn't attend due to illness and then shortly afterwards he passed away. As a result, Mark Lenard would be on my list. But I'd have to add DeForest Kelley, James Doohan and sadly now Leonard Nimoy. Also - Gene Roddenberry.
  5. Hi Joey I hope you enjoy your first comic con. It's usually a good event and I can understand the excitement and nervousness over what to do. Your assumption about the photoshoots are spot on. Just go along at the time on the ticket (maybe a little earlier) and you'll be sorted. Don't panic about the size of the queue though. Once the queue starts moving, it moves along at a fair old rate. Your girlfriend will probably be allowed to queue with you but once you get into the room, it'll be down to the crewmember on duty. The cosplayers are usually fine with you taking their photos as long as they're on the main floor. I wouldn't ask them if they're taking a break though (eating, drinking, smoking, bathroom break) - most would be polite and let you take a pic, but it might be worth waiting until you see them a little later. As for what else to do, you're right in that there's dealer stalls. Lots of things to buy and see (the Back to the Future DeLorean will be there) and there's a gamer zone if you like video games. Don't forget the guest talks too. They're great ways to pass the time.
  6. What about some cartoon voice actors? Eg Futurama cast: Billy West, John Di Maggio, Katey Sagal. Or what about people like Peter Cullen, or Frank Welker?
  7. Brilliant! Love this announcement. My first 'must see' guest of CFCC!
  8. Battlestar Galactica (reboot), Farscape, Firefly and Stargate. Don't mind who or how many :)
  9. Where do I start? Okay how about members of the casts of Firefly or Battlestar Galactica? More Stargate guests possibly? We also had the brilliant Virginia Hey last year so any chance of more Farscape guests (Claudia Black, Gigi Edgely, Ben Browder, Antony Simcoe, Wayne Pygram, etc) You've also had the amazing Eve Myles and Kai Owen so what about more Torchwood guests? Gareth David-Lloyd, Tom Price, Burn Gorman would be great! Oh and as I'm a huge Star Trek fan, some guests of Star Trek (any era) would be great please! We can't all get to DST
  10. Hi there. I've been lurking for a while but finally decided to sign up today. I've gone to both events in Cardiff so far and I've already bought my early bird passes for November's event. However, it looks like I may also be crewing it too so that'll be new. I used to go to conventions all the time in the late '90s, early 2000s and went to events in Leicester, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Blackpool and Bristol. I was heavily involved in a club called Kronos 1, a Star Trek club here in Cardiff for several years. Then in the mid 2000s, I stopped doing it all. I didn't go to a convention again until an event in Peterborough in 2012 gave me the convention bug again. Further events in early 2013 persuaded me to continue and then Cardiff Comic Con appeared practically on my doorstep! I'm into my sci-fi (space-based stuff mainly like Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Farscape, Firefly, Doctor Who, Stargate) but love some stuff like Buffy, Angel, Torchwood, etc. Love my gaming too, both modern (Xbox 360) and retro (Spectrum/Amiga) I'm also into motor sports and I'll be missing the Brazilian Grand Prix for CFCC but it's worth the sacrifice (plus that's what Sky+ was put on this Earth for). I probably won't be able to contribute too much on here as I doubt I'll get to much outside of Cardiff but who knows? Looking forward to chatting to you all though. Geoff
